The council’s planning and transportation regulatory panel approved the plans for the energy efficient development on the site of the former St Lukes Primary School in Weaste at a meeting on 2 December 2021
The development in Eccles New Road will comprise of 32 homes and 36 apartments with 75% to be offered as affordable housing.
IHCLT are working in partnership with Derive and Salford City Council 24 of the properties on the 68 homes site will be allocated for purchase by IHCLT.
The development is an exciting opportunity for IHCLT to build its own portfolio of affordable homes for the people of Salford
IHCLT Chair – Mike Duddy said “This is a great achievement for all the hard work already done to establish a community led housing model in Salford. The developed will provide good quality high energy efficient homes helping to reduce fuel poverty along side helping Salford meet it targets to become Carbon neutral.
